]]>Statement: In January 2011 my wife and I travelled to Paris together for her birthday. This set of work is my tribute to the street photographers of Paris. Due to the occasion of us being there I was obviously influenced by the romantic ideal of Paris; stylish people, playful lovers, café culture, a laissez-faire attitude, the architecture. In choosing to use my Minolta XG9 and Kodak Tri-X 400 film I wanted to play on that ideal and the Romanticism photographers have for the work of the original Parisien street photographers. Their ability to peel away the layers of the city to reveal normal people in their environment, was key to the way in which I wanted to visualize Paris.
