I grew up amazed and astounded by all things running the gamut from science through art. Unfortunately I had to streamline my interests to satisfy the education system and the left side of the brain won out. Throughout my education at Cardiff University and the University of Birmingham (UK) I pursued a career in biological science through the study of viruses and the immune responses to them. I have continued these themes within my research for subsequent post-doctoral studies in New York.
Meeting my wife-to-be, a creative writing and poetry major, awoke the long-dormant right-hand side of my brain. Looking to channel rediscovered artistic energies I finally found the medium of photography. I am an observer of the natural and man-made world around us. My creative work is heavily informed by my background in biological and medical sciences, as well as an interest in anthropology and history.
